A pancake is a thin, flat cake made from a batter that typically includes flour, eggs, milk (or buttermilk), and a leavening agent. This mixture is poured onto a hot surface, such as a griddle or frying pan, and cooked until golden brown on both sides. Pancakes are versatile and enjoyed worldwide, often served with toppings like maple syrup, fruit, whipped cream, or even savory ingredients like bacon or cheese. They are cherished for their fluffy texture and are a popular choice for breakfast or brunch.
Ingredients
- Flour: 1 cup
- Egg: 2
- Milk: 1 cup
- Sugar: 2 tablespoons
- Butter: 2 tablespoons
- Baking powder (baking powder) 1 teaspoon
- Butterscotch Essence: 4 drops
- Salt (a little salt): 1/4 teaspoon
- Oil/Butter (as required)
Method
- Before making pancakes, first beat the eggs well and make a mixture.
- Then take a big bowl. Mix together flour, baking powder, sugar, butterscotch essence and a little salt in a bowl.
- Now mix a cup of milk and butter in the bowl in which the eggs were cracked.
- Then pour the egg mixture little by little into the flour mixture and beat the mixture very well so that there are no lumps.
- Then apply oil or butter around the inside of this frypan and give it a butter paper according to the size of the pan. First pre-heat the gas oven on low flame for 5 minutes and place the frypan in the kadai. Let it sit for 10 – 20 minutes. Then turn off the gas oven and lower the frypan. Then remove the cake from the pan by scraping the sides of the pan with a spatula and serve the pancake.
If you want to make eggless pancakes, then you can omit the egg ingredient.
