Ingredients

  1. Fish fillet : 400 gms
  2. Potatoes: 500 grams
  3. White button mushroom : 5-6 cooked
  4. Onion: Medium sized
  5. Garlic : 1 teaspoon chopped
    Ingredients for Fish Marinade:
  6. Garlic cloves : 1 – ½ tsp chopped
  7. Olive oil: 1 tsp
  8. Lemon juice: 1 tsp
  9. Whole black pepper: ½ tsp
  10. Salt : ½ tsp

Mashed Potato:

  1. Italian seasoning: ½ tsp
  2. Hot milk : ¼ cup
  3. Butter: 2 tbsp

White Sauce :

  1. Flour : 2 tbsp
  2. Butter: 30 grams
  3. Italian spices: ½ tsp
  4. Hot milk: 1 ½ to 1¾ cups
  5. Grated paneer: 2 tbsp

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius for about ten minutes. Then make a smooth paste with 1½ tablespoons of chopped garlic, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, ½ teaspoon of salt and pepper and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. Marinate the fish with this paste
  2. Marinate for about an hour or so.
  3. Boil the potatoes, peel them and mash them well. Add 2 tablespoons of butter, ¼ cup of hot milk, ½ teaspoon of dried Italian herbs, salt and pepper and mix well to combine all the ingredients.
  4. In a pan, add 30 grams of butter and 2 spoons of flour and cook for about 5-7 minutes until the flour is cooked. Keep stirring continuously. Then slowly add milk, when the mixture thickens add 2 tbsp of cheese, dry herbs, salt and pepper and mix well.
  5. In another pan add oil, chopped garlic, onion, marinated fish and stir well. Once the onions are soft and brown, add the chopped fish and cooked mushrooms and mix well. Add ¼ to 1/3 cup white sauce to the mixture and mix well.
  6. Then grease a baking dish with butter and place the mixture in the dish. Pour the rest of the white sauce mixture over the mixture.
  7. Then add the mashed potatoes and spread well over the white sauce and sprinkle with grated cheese and bake for about 20 to 25 minutes. During the last five minutes, broil the mixture for a perfect golden color. Let the pie rest for about 20 to 25 minutes before serving. So that the pie is well set.
