French Toast Recipe

French toast , also known as “pain perdu” in French, meaning “lost bread,” is a delicious and comforting breakfast dish enjoyed around the world. It’s made by dipping slices of bread into a mixture of beaten eggs, milk (or cream), and often flavored with vanilla, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. The bread absorbs the rich custard-like mixture, transforming into a golden-brown delight when cooked. Learn the easy recipe .
Ingredients
- Egg: 2
- Milk: 1/2 cup
- Sugar: 2 tablespoons
- Salt: 1 pinch
- Cinnamon powder: 1/2 teaspoon
- Bread: 4-6 pieces
- Butter: For deep frying
- Honey: For serving
Method
- First, break the eggs into a large bowl and mix well with the milk, sugar, salt and cinnamon powder (if using).
- Then put butter in a pan and heat the pan.
- Then dip the bread pieces in the egg mixture so that the mixture adheres well to both sides of the bread.
- Place the bread pieces dipped in the egg mixture in a hot pan and keep folding both sides well until the bread turns golden brown in color. You can also fold the breads with oil, but you will not get the taste like butter. So use butter while making French Toast.
- When the bread becomes brown in color, you will know that the bread is ready. Then serve this bread (French Toast) hot with honey. And if you don’t want to eat it with honey, then you can eat it with tomato sauce.
